Overcoming a Daunting Task
This project was the full process and design of an illustration that coincided with the title "Overcoming a Daunting Task."
This started with a lot of thumbnail sketches and finding that perfect tone to match the title.
After a few sketches and redesigns, I decided to go with the illustration of a boy doing chores. An easy task for most people, but in the eyes of a child, one of the most dreadful things, especially if there are a lot of chores.
As the illustration developed, monsters were added to add to that child-like imagination, and turning chores, something that's boring, daunting at the beginning, gross, and sometimes emotionally and physically painful, into something that could be defeated, fought against, and ultimately conquered. Overcoming the chore monsters is no easy task.
