I come from a long-line of beekeepers - 4 generations to be exact. My uncles are commercial beekeepers and operate Gibbs Honey in Dalkeith, Ontario the one I grew up on… After relocating to Dundas, Ontario, I got the urge to reconnect with nature. I read lots of books, took courses with the OBA, tapped into the family genetics, found a local mentor and got to it! I typically manage between 7-10 colonies and produce some of the best local honey around.

 

With Gibbs Honey I had to create a brand for quite possibly the toughest client… Me. I wanted something: timeless, honest, simple and hard-working. The brand and packaging echoes those sentiments with the minimum amount of details and a little bit of humour which helps connect the maker, the product and the consumer.

 

I am at the Centro Garden Farmers Market from mid-July to late September. You can also buy direct from the beekeeper, me!
