Azerbaijan Railways (Azerbaijani: Azərbaycan Dəmir Yolları) is the institution that operates the state-owned railway services of Azerbaijan. The company was established in 1991 under the name of Azerbaijan State Railways (Azərbaycan Dövlət Dəmir Yolları) instead of Soviet Railways and took its current name in 2009. It is located in central Baku. 

The first railway in Azerbaijan was opened in 1880. Today, Azerbaijan Railways has 176 stations, two fully automatic, 12 with container yards with adapted mechanisms and machinery, and three stations where high cargo containers can be supplied. The railways have a total length of 2,918 km, 1,272 km of which is electrified
