During the summer of 2013, Nike aimed to encourage runners to steer away from their standard routes and ‘Run Free’. Through a collaboration between the two production teams, we shortlisted, scouted and cast a wide range of locations and models prior to leaving the UK.
Commissioned through AKQA, the team and I spent two days shooting in the beautiful heat of Marseille, with the images being used widely online throughout western Europe. Utilising a broad variety of situations, we built a set of images which urged summer-runners to challenge themselves to find new and exciting places to run.
