“From the street the house looks discreet and showcase a modern take on a more traditionnal architecture with its pitched roof and cedar shingles cladding, both in use in the region. The impressive skylight, which follows the pitch of the roof and splits the house in two, brings a lot of natural light at the center of the house. The use of cedar shingles, both inside and outside, gives a lot of texture and warmth to the house. The same type of concrete used for the pool has been used for the backsplash in the kitchen, giving a bit of texture to the minimalist and very polished interior.

Bromont Residence “Bromont house is nested on a hill close to Bromont Ski Station, an hour drive east of Montreal, an ideal spot for a very active family. A skylight splits the house in two parts, with an infinity pool overlooking a spectacular view of the Adirondack mountains. MUUK architecture + construction was in charge of the whole project, overseeing every aspects and details of this modern house. An aerial view of the house shows the distinct shape of the house, split in two by an impressive skylight and the extension created by the pool, suspended 20 feet from the ground. Living outside was a fondamental requirement for the clients, which lead to the creation of different terrasses and outdoor room. The pool is an integral part of the project, a natural extension of the main terrasse. A glass was intstall at its very end to optimize the view. It was designed and constructed in a way to appear as floating in the middle of the forest, being suspended 20 feet from the ground. During winter months a clear view over the Adirondack mountains gives a feeling of vastitude.” (In Dwell)
