In 2014 I joined a team at Sinclair Broadcast Group that was changing the face of television and digital content production. We built websites, content and assent management systems, OTT brands and mobile apps that delivered HD video experiences to audiences on every screen. I joined as Director of UX and moved into the Product Director position.
Sinclair Storyline
I joined Sinclair Broadcast Group in 2014 and we embarked on an ambitious software creation adventure. In the end we had created a new software platform for 165 Sinclair TV stations to use as their digital broadcast system. It allowed stations to publish multiple websites, broadcast live video to the web and share assets with all syndication partners. We spent almost two years developing the digital rights management, video editing, page publishing and cross-media syndication and management tools necessary to run a vast digital video network. I traveled to stations for user testing and eventual training and rollout. Below is a small sampling of this massive project.
Hometown Live OTT

I was the UX Director for this video platform which we released at Sinclair Broadcast. This over-the-top offering served video from local news markets to viewer's devices including mobile, desktop, Xbox, Roku, Amazon Fire TV and others. Users enjoyed being able to tune in to their home markets even if they were away at college or had moved to another part of the country.
