Created for a competition put on by the Polish Embassy in Dublin. The brief was to create a design that commemorated and advertised the 210th anniversary of Chopin's birth. I used paper cutout to create all text and imagery. Chopin's pronounced profile is comprised of the negative space left over from the piano cutout, which doubles as his long, signature locks. The insides of the "O" and "P" cutouts are also placed in Chopin's face to add liveliness and color. Red and white was used in tandem with black to honor the Polish flag.
