Yarn Over Renew was a project designed to challenge the design and creative process. I was instructed to create a conference for the creative industry in order to change an issue that is hindering the industry. I chose crochet and knit-ware as my industry, and the issue I was aiming to change was the overconsumption of fast fashion by making clothes with recycled yarn. I found a fine artist, a well-established business owner, an Instagram influencer, and the co-CEOs of Ambercycle; a company that found a way to turn recycled clothes into polyester yarn, to be my speakers for the event. Even though this conference isn't real, I believe I made an impact nonetheless.
