Post_ie system
Post_ie is a kitchen tool and system of IoT that facilitates workflows, list building, and organization of ingredients. The concept was devepoled during a two-week workshop, which was guided by the MOME and the German electronics company Medion AG.
Part of the kit is a graphical interface that follows the practical form of post-it with its coloured, touch-sensitive e-ink display. It allows you to easily search for ingredients stored in the (smart) refrigerator or in the smart boxes that are part of the package as well. Scales are built into the bottom of these boxes that checks the weight of the ingredients and food stored in them and transmit this data to the centre of the system, the HUB. The unit keeps track of when the boxes have been activated and also recognizes handwritten notes that the user writes to the e-ink panel at the top of the box. Due to this feature the system is able to notify the user (via its post-it-like interface or our smartphone/tablet) if any food is running low or may spoil soon.

The HUB also synchronizes the note-taking and list-making applications on the portable devices via WiFi, which information is displayed on the graphical interface as well.
