"Sopa da Pedra" (in portuguese) or "Die Stiensuppe" (in german) is a graphic storylling based in known portuguese soup. According to the recipe, a stone is placed in the soup rich in vegetables. This stone is then reused for the following invented according to legend by a monk.

This project appears in the context of my exchange studies book design and editorial illustration.

"Sopa da Pedra" en portuguais ou "La Soupe de Pierre" en français est graphic storytelling qui s'inspire d'une soup traditionnelle portugaise. Selon la recette, une pierre est placée dans la soupe riche en légumes. Cette pierre est ensuite réutilisées pour le suivantes inventée selon la légende par un moine.

Ce projet a vu le jour lors de mes études en conception de livres et Illustration éditoriale en Allemagne.

This project cames with the intention of answering these questions:

How books are being read nowadays?

Do we read books on the same way?

The answers of these questions can be seen on this book. An experimental story that tests the limit of handwriting and illustration. It explores editorial points, it make us to wonder about reading activity and somehow not far from our currently digital era.

It is a plublishing that breaks with usual "standart" format of a classic book.

Ce projet a vu le jour avec l'intention de répondre à plusieurs questions:

Comment les livres sont perçus aujourd'hui, comment sont ils lus ?

Est-ce qu'ils sont utilisés de la même manière qu'auparavant.

Les réponses à ces questions s'illustrent dans ce projet. Une histoire expérimentale qui joue avec les limites de l'écriture manuscrite et de l'illustration. En explorant le milieu de l'édition, ce projet nous interrogé sur la lecture comme acte physique à l'heure où la lecture digitale sur les écrans est omniprésente. Ce livre illustré rompt avec l'utilisation classique d'un livre.

The project was developed under the support of Einar Turkowski on the subject Editorial Illustration and Book Design. This project was developed through an exchange year in Kiel, Germany at Muthesius Kunsthochschule.

Here I had a change to work on multiple disciplinary fields on design; as for example, calligraphy, editorial illustration, print-methods and near by the end of the project, book binding. All these elements were fundamental to give a strong basis to develop this personal project that I am showing here.

Le projet a été développé avec l'aide de Einar Turkowski dans le cadre de ma formation conception de livre et illustration éditoriale (Editorial Illustration and Book Design). Il a été développé durant un échange avec Muthesius Kunsthochschule, à Kiel, en Allemagne.

Ici, j'ai eu la chance de travailler dans de multiples domaines comme la calligraphie, l'illustration éditoriale, les méthodes d'impression et de reliures. Tout autant d'éléments fondamentaux qui ont permis de développer ce projet personnel publié ici.
