A Forest Rooftop in Mui Ne

A humble island and a tiny tropical forest
This project is a rooftop located on the 15th floor of one building in Mui Ne district, Binh Thuan province. The desires of project investors are the growth of green spaces and a complex area that could implement plenty of residential activities.
The middle rooftop has a perfect position, but also this causes some disadvantages to the design. The site likely was at the bottom of character “U” on the whole of the building. As a result, harms of venturi and downdraught effects could create so much strong wind in here.
The only solution that could be implemented is importing many coverages, pergolas, canopies or trees mixed with over three layers.
It should not be overlooked that this site could be observed by every resident from the top stories’ apartments. As a consequence, the shadows, as well as the high trees planted should account for the majority area. But the architects and flora experts have to consider what kind of trees could be planted in this garden, due to, as we have known, the venturi and downdraught effects are extremely significant.
On the other hand, especially, there are two grand waterfalls on both sides of this garden, so that this could be seen as an identity, to some extent. When everybody stumbles upon and hears those white noises (the stream following, the foliages rustling in the light breeze…), they almost refresh their souls and charge their power. Those arrangements, long ago, are known as pure natural therapeutics.
I use materials from coastal land, where there are many fishermen throwing nets, silver seashells and golden sand hovering on the waves. The shade was exploited to create more spaces. Following that the floor no longer is boring concrete, instead of that it is covered by many flexible materials such as symbolizing meadow, sand, water, stone. That makes the users likely lost in a tropical forest in the middle of the complex building.
The circle shapes are eventually taken advantage of in conceptual design, by the way creating a curve path line following the length of this site. The grading surfaces are various in height, in order to separate spaces and emphasize the main pedestrian way.
