MLLN already had a very clear idea of what he wanted to see in the artwork right from the get-go. He filtered his vision down into a simple narrative that he'd based the song around. In his words, "Well the song is called “Wastin’ Time” and is about getting rid of negative people in your life. So I was thinking maybe the back of a girl walking toward a light which would be considered her “better” life without those people"
After receiving such a succinctly articulated concept, I got to work and produced the following prototypes, the first of which, thankfully, made the cut. The notion was that this girl was letting go of her past and rushing towards the light (in this case, away from the audience), and that she was finally achieving her genuine self rather than the impression she had once seen herself as.
