The project was to create a proposal for a cartoon show. This show is called The Overground; Decades after the disappearance of the Forest Spirit a small village continues to have conflict with the creatures in the enchanted forest that surrounds them. It will take outcasts from the village and forest to uncover the mystery of the Spirits disappearance and so bring harmony back to the forest.
This is the poster for the TV Show.
This is the front cover of the comic book. I wanted to start  telling this story in comic book form to visualise my ideas.
The pages above and upcoming pages are just sections of the story. Above are the first four pages of chapter one. These pages introduce the underground, where Ip, the main character, lives.
In these pages we are introduced to the Gnome King and see how Ip ends up being cast out of his tribe and thrown out into the unknown; the Overground.
In these pages we’re introduced to Agnes. She lives in one of the villages that is surrounded by the enchanted forest the folklore creatures live in. We also get a brief introduction to Old Man Hermie, the village recluse.
This is a page a bit further on in the comic showing how the two main characters end up meeting
Ip the gnome, after being thrown out of his home and community, will need the help of, self-pronounced outcast, Evie the toadstool elf to survive in the Overground. Little do they know the secrets they will uncover.
Agnes, the human, has just arrived at the village, thinking it would be a normal, non-magical village. She, with the help of the village outcast Old Man Hermie, will try and discover the secrets of the forest that have been lost over time.
Evie the Toadstool Elf is the second child in her family who consequently always feels she's treated like second best. She runs away from her tribe to start her own tribe. When she finds Ip alone in the forest she see's this as a chance to start building her tribe.
Old Man Hermie, the village loony and Agnes's mentor that tells her about the secrets of the forest.
To the left is the character tree which shows a few more characters I plan to introduce and their relationships with the other characters. To the right is a map of the village Agnes and Hermie live in and the Forest that surrounds it.
