Polestar has always been forward-thinking in terms of sustainability and improvements for mother earth. The materials they use are thoroughly thought of which is demonstrated in this animation- showing is reconstructed wood panels that are sliced into small stripes and reconstructed to avoid scrap through decolouration.
The challenge for us was to balance the raw industrial process in the making of the panels, whilst allowing the film we were creating to be enchanting and beautiful. We decided to put the wood in the spotlight, showcasing multiple steps of the process in an abstract world.

Process
Wood is firm and very flexible, it behaves in a certain way compared to other materials. We wanted to bend it, slice it and unfold it. There were several movements which we found particularly challenging whilst translating it into an animation.
