The project brief was to re-design the packaging for an own-brand product range.
I chose to design packaging for a range of chilli sauces from Marks & Spencers. I had to stretch the brief a little, given that Marks & Spencers don't actually do a range of chilli sauces (they only have one kind).
The design for the packaging was based on the idea of communicating the heat of the product, and nothing is more fiery in a bottle than a Molotov cocktail. This connects contextually with the typeface, inspired by research into Russian typefaces and Constructivism.
