In 1984, Tom Geismar updated the PBS logo into what would become the iconic design we know today. It is an excellent example of building upon the past while looking to the future, as Geismar broke down Herb Lubalin's "everyman" element in the original 1971 PBS logo and rebuilt it into "everyone". More on that can be read here

I created a short channel blurb animation based on this design, with animation styles and sound that would fit right at home in the 1980s.
