Unlike most US car companies, the Merikan Automotive Company produces all of its vehicles domestically and supports a substantial American workforce. Merikan’s advertising campaign celebrates “the Merikan dream,” an intentional reference to “the American dream.” I created a  logo suggesting patriotism and tradition, committed to supporting the US economy. The abstract  image of an eagle, one of the most prominent symbols of America, protectively wraps its red  and white striped wings around the corporate shield. The stars, interspersed between the bold, classic lettering, complete the flag motif and imply quality and integrity. The advertisement, in its entirety, features a vintage photograph of a Merikan car set against a recognizably American landscape. It is intended to illicit nostalgia for the “good old days” and a sense of quiet grandeur. The website provides both news and details about Merikan’s products.
