Acting Managing Editor, Art Director

Music City News Magazine was one of the oldest country music publications in the country, spanning 37 years. During the 90s, country music enjoyed one of the largest highs in popularity, and Music City News at one point boasted over 300,000 circulation, including newsstand. It was sold at its peak to Gannett, the pervasive newspaper conglomerate. As art director and later acting managing editor, I oversaw the entire operation of the publication. From concept and pagination, to photo acquisition and photo shoots, to scanning and image correction, to design and layout, to post-production and shipment, to press checks 5 hours away at Quad Graphics in Georgia, to local monthly distribution in two primary locations on Music Row, to final archiving and off-site storage, I truly lived and breathed Music City News for nearly five years.
