'Meri Pyari Bakri' / 'My Dearest Goat' is a short stopmotion film on animal non violence.
It is an attempt to personify Mahatma Gandhi's philosophies of non-violence and Satyagraha [civil disobedience]. It showcases how animals are full of compassion,
even in adversities. This is a story of a goat who adopts the path of civil disobedience to protest against her master's atrocities. Even in protest, the goat serves her master
in a heartwarming manner which leads to his catharsis.
The film won Honorable Jury Mention at the 11th Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival 2021.
With a small team of 6 members,the film took around 11 months to complete.

SET DESIGN
The backgrounds and props have been given a rugged feeling in order to bring forward the ambiance of village life.
Outskirts of Nassik village (Maharashtra, India) were taken as reference for the same.

ARMATURE
Basic shapes were created using high density thermocol.
For smooth movement and to avoid brittleness we used copper wires.

Rigged using a very interesting material- gooseneck cable.

ANIMATION
The film was captured frame by frame at 12 fps. I was assisted by a very supportive and enthusiastic girl Avarnita Prasad during the complete making of this film.

To maintain the spirit of the film and do justice to the principles of Mahatma Gandhi we tried to follow aparigrah (non-possession), building most of the set out of waste available around.
