Visual Narratives
Digital, 2017

Visual Narratives is a self-portrait series that acts as a tool for self-reflection. In the images the viewer will see me confront myself and observe the internal conflicts I have in which I try to find a solution. Visual Narratives is about the vitality of facing myself, to discover who I am for what I am whether I like what I see or not. Whether it is ugly or pretty this examination aims to bring the self in to perspective, into realty and to have an understanding. It also brings me to understand that I’m not always going to understand, but either way this induces growth and development. Additionally, the images are a documentation of my emotional dynamics. The emotions can vary and sometimes more than one is present. That emotion can be: humility, strength, growth, pain, betrayal, anger, sadness, love, hate, anxiety, worry, despair and confidence… and these can be present at once.
