digital painting + AI mosaic triptych, each panel is 2480x1771 px

The three panels depict views of the garden of St Edmund's College, Cambridge, UK throughout the various seasons of the past year. The left panel is a view from the College library towards the South Court on a rainy day. The second panel shows an apple tree in bloom in the garden. The right panel is a view of the Richard Laws building from the Sports Pitch at sunset. The silent human figure in all three panels is a melancholy witness to the isolation we’ve experienced during the height of the pandemic.

The images are digital paintings, on top of which fragments of photographs of physical paint are added using a deep neural network (GitHub project page).
Original digital painting used as input to the deep neural network. Each panel is 2480x1771 px. Done in Krita.
