First Bite
Packaging Design/Branding
For the final assignment of my Packaging Design subject, we are required to either repackage a brand, or to create a new brand, and determine its packaging.
First Bite is a fictional bakery cafe I started for this project. The name comes from the feeling I would like to deliver to the customers -- love at first bite. Based on that, I decided to give First Bite a flirty, energetic look. Thus a red colour with pink undertone is the best colour to set the mood.
Also, as a student I am required to challenge myself to try new things. For this project I am trying out minimalistic designs, as I am always the type to fill in spaces. This time I stripped off everything and focus on the logo and its 'love bite' and only experiment with the main colour and white.
The feedback I received from my lecturer allowed me to see my flaws. This work still lacked details. While some provide impact, the others --for example the cupcake box and sandwich box-- did not.
Personal note: Nonetheless I am happy with the results. I think I may use my semester break to improvise the designs and explore more possibilities.
