CHEO Telethon Logo
Redesign Concepts
The CHEO Telethon is an annual fundraising event hosted on CTV to raise money for the hospital. In 2016 CHEO decided to change their approach to how they designed for the Telethon. Previously the telethon logo was designed via a contest held in local elementary schools. Kids would draw a “logo” and the winner would be rendered by an artist. Instead they wanted to have an iconic logo that would instead be reused in the upcoming years, to create an identity that was easily recognizable.

Teddy Bears, Yellow, and Purple are key parts of CHEO’s branding. Incorporating this as well as making the logo feel approachable and kid friendly were focuses of the designs I proposed for the rebrand.
Including versions with the accent above the e in either a different colour, or cut into the top, was important to show a bilingual application for the logo as the telethon is a fully bilingual event.
