THE ASSIGNMENT
WHAT - Create theme artwork for the 2021 US Open. The theme artwork is an iconic visual that is
created annually to commemorate each year’s US Open. It is used in a variety of applications that may
include promotional posters, on-site banners, the official tickets, merchandise and other collateral.
WHY – Theme art has been a US Open tradition. Maintaining this tradition allows us to immortalize the
attitude, energy and style of each year’s US Open, thus creating an important memento for our
fans and organization.
HOW – BOLD. VIBRANT. CONTEMPORARY. ICONIC.
