The brief’s objective was to design a product that facilitates positive behaviour, to aid a person’s mental well being, but without taking a direct-approach that can initially put a person off.
My big idea was to create a colourful and fun app that can bring people together ‘for a laugh’. Based around the theme of ‘Comic-Book Superheroes’, it features monthly ‘Missions’ that the user and their selected ‘recruits’ can participate in. These ‘missions’ fall into four categories: Sporty, Creative, Active or Learning.
As the different categories suggest, the missions vary depending on what category they are in. One month the mission could be “Build a model boat from old packaging” whereas the next could be, “arrange a day to go paint balling with your team” and this would feature a promotional code to the organisations where the activity could take place. (This way keeping the app Free to users, but gaining profit from active sponsors).
I based my app on the theme of Comic Book Superheroes because of the bright colours, and the ‘cartoony’ style that I applied to my app, which really grabs the users attention. By changing the name of the monthly activities to ‘Missions’ it makes the user feel that their team are ‘heroes’ working together to complete the mission, just like in comic books and Movies.
The app also features different Super- Hero character bodies, which the user can upload their face to, making the app more personal, as well as bringing a smile to the face.
