In a short assignment revolving around Durable Product Development, a new business gift had to be developed for the in-home/office space. After sketching and consulting it was decided that our design direction was to be to create a new clock.The result is a 12.5 cm high, 9 cm diameter double walled 0.5mm tube with support rings for the clock housings and inner tube. 2 Dials, one thin red dial for the minutes and one larger black dial, run along the inside wall over the rim to relay the time. As the dials can be seen both on top and at an angle and are clearly distinguishable, reading time is possible from a distance.

As for a minimal impact (the focus of the course) instead of printing these applications would be scorched into the wood.
