The publication ‘Re-representation’ draws attention to these observations by photographing mundane everyday objects the Rohingya refugees no longer have access to. By isolating individuals from the news stories of the Rohingyan crisis to give greater focus to their ‘identity’. I focused on observing what objects they held onto under these extreme circumstances.

I experimented with the flag form using these mundane objects to offer different commentary on the subject matter. The publication cover is designed in a red cloth carrying the meaning of danger and approached by peace and safety which is the intended white jacket. The choice of binding is a traditional coptic bind embodying the concept of flag as a traditional symbol of nationalism. The labour taken to create this handbook has also been adapted to the idea of the struggles of the Rohingya.
