ZLAN x NEEDforSEAT®

2021 Edition

ZLAN is a huge french event hosted by Zerator, one of the biggest - if not the biggest - french streamer. This was mainly streamed on the Zerator's Twitch channel and by some streamers present during the event. This year, the ZLAN gathered 192 players split in trios, competing on 11 different videogames : versatility and consistency was the key for them to win the competition. This year's ZLAN registered a 248 695 peak viewers, and 176 229 viewers average (that's a lot).

I was asked to concept and design a unique chair, that would be used on the event and sold on Internet. I also had to promote it on Internet, especially on Twitter.

Few early concepts

For the 2021 edition, I chose to use white leather to balance between black and green leather. Main work on this design was to find a balance between the three colors. I decided to create green shapes on each side of front backrest wings to highlight the shape of the seat. I also created a small arrowish pattern on the front backrest and the seating in reference to the straight edges from the ZLAN's logo. This pattern help creating relief on the front part. On the back, the oversized logo in high end embroidery have the same role. The round shape on the bottom right state as an allusion to the advertising I made for NEEDforSEAT® for this chair.

Promotions on Twitter

So I also had to create artworks to advertise about the seat on NEEDforSEAT®'s french Twitter account and website. I tried to keep them as minimal as possible to keep the seat as the main subject. I used the arrowish pattern and the rounded shape in reference to the seat. I also added small squared particles in reference to the ZLAN's logo. For Twitter artworks, I made different layouts so people easily differenciate them and don't have déjà vu feelings.
