This piece is inspired by A.Canova's famous sculpture of Amore and Psyche, one of my favourite sculptures!
The story of Amore/Cupid (or Love) and the union with Psyche (or Soul) is one of tragedy, adventure, love and some incredibly beautiful symbolism.
The moment represented in this artwork is the resurrection of Psyche through Cupid's love, after she had peered into a forbidden jar and was cursed with the 'Sleep of the Innermost Darkness'.
