Wacoss (DropIn Solutions) engaged me as a developer and consultant to build an interactive bespoke and fully responsive platform, which is used as an evidence-based tool designed to immerse the user into the lives of people experiencing disadvantage.

The goal of the platform is to create greater empathy and awareness about disadvantage by presenting the audience with four stories of people navigating ‘the system’.

The website enables users to select and follow the experiences of these people, read their stories, hear their voices and seeing their world through their eyes in an engaging and human way

The platform showcases real photos of real people from various backgrounds, experiencing day to day issues in their lives. The story narration is spoken by those with lived experience.

The technical challenge was to push and go beyond the limitations of the Elementor Pro website by implementing custom CSS to achieve a different navigation style that represents the journey the visitor experiences scrolling through each story. As you scroll vertically and horizontally through the entire story, the navigation reveals where you are in this story and the mood that is set in each section.
