About a year ago, I took part in a competition Timecode Akcja Animacja. The task was to prepare an animation to the chosen voice-over from one of the companies. Each recording showed the way in which the company contributes to creating a more eco-friendly environment. For my animation, I chose the voice-over of fixly, which is a website, where you can find a professionals, who will repair broken devices, so you can use them for longer instead of having to buy a new one.
Although I haven’t won any prize in the contest, I decided to share the project with the wider audience - have a look and enjoy :)
As the fixly branding consists of three colors - white, black and yellow, I also decided to reduce animation's color palette to those shades. The idea I came up with at the very beginning, was to present our planet in a symbolic form and to play with it as an object. I wanted to illustrate the lector's words, as he speaks about treating Earth as something old and broken, something that could be thrown away, but, thanks to fixly, can be fixed instead.
In this project, I tried to pursue some 2D animation cases such as character rigging, simulating 3D objects and creating interesting transitions. Even though I haven't been successful in the contest, I consider this project a great addition to my motion design portfolio.
