The challenge was to visualize the early church as portrayed in the book of Acts. The men and women in this book of the Bible were the first Christians. They were among the first to be the church. The lived through pain, torture, ridicule, and tremendous affliction. Yet through all of that, God used them to spread the gospel of Jesus.
He empowered them to fulfill this task through the power of the Holy Spirit.
That was the essence I needed to capture for the art direction. So, I had a couple of thoughts...
The first was an image of Earth. Not portrayed as what it should be, round. Instead it made it square. The people in the book of Acts lived in a world that was not what it should be. Through them, the world would be transformed.
The second image was a single flame. I went with a minimalist design to emphasize the flame. The flame is a representative symbol of the Holy Spirit.
