Video showing the capacitive paint sensor in action.
Surface X Interface was my first project commission as a full-time media designer. The client, the Privacy Condominium, needed a low-cost interactive way to showcase its project at the sales gallery. I proposed using conductive paint as capacitive sensor touch pads which would allow users to select video of each room type by their own.

The first approach was to program the transition of the videos with OpenFrameworks and the the capacitive pads with serial protocol in Arduino.
Bare conductive paint used as capacitive touch icons to switch between video files.
An arduino board was mounted on the other side of the wall receiving serial signal from the each conductive touch pad and send a message to the corresponding video on the TV screen in front.
