„Don’t call me Chef“
A new illustration for an Eater essay by restaurateur Reem Assil about how she does not want to be called a chef — a term she finds symbolic of a discriminatory, abusive system.
For this piece, I wanted to show a moment of self-reflection: the figure is questioning her position & responsibilities in the industry and critiquing current work hierarchies, just like the author.
