LifeBrite Laboratories's profile

STI and Women’s Health Panels at LifeBrite Laboratories

Voted the best lab in Atlanta for 5 straight years,, LifeBrite Laboratories is an accredited medical lab offering testing services such as chemistry testing and toxicology to health care professionals. Alongside these services, LifeBrite Laboratories also provides testing services for sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and women’s health.

All of the STI And women’s health panels provided by the company are in vitro, nucleic acid application tests (NAAT). Such tests detect and identify the genomic deoxyribonucleic acid (gDNA) of both viral infections and microorganisms. The infections and microorganisms detected by the company’s NAAT tests are associated with a wide range of women’s health concerns, including urogenital candidiasis (VCC), bacterial vaginosis (BV), and STIs.

The early, accurate detection of these markers is essential for successful treatment. The vagina is home to a huge range of microorganisms that make up a healthy vaginal flora. These include several lactobacilli species that discourage pathogenic microorganism growth. Due to the presence of such a large range of microorganisms, detecting an overgrowth of pathogenic microorganisms can be challenging. The NAAT tests are capable of identifying 32 different commensal and pathogenic microbes, along with both HSV-1 and HSV-2.
