NHL SUMMER LEAGUE
Ever thought about what it would be like if the NHL combined all of the prospect tournaments from around the league? Well, here it is!
I present to you, the NHL Summer League. A fast, yet fun event that would be held every summer that brings hockey all year round for a 2-week tourney. Who wouldn't love that? This allows teams’ top prospects and free agent invitees to showcase their skills and develop for the NHL level. Being able to watch your favorite prospects or cheering for a newcomer looking to make his mark on the league, this summer league will not want to be missed.

Locations:
Pacific - Abbotsford Centre, 7000 capacity (Abbotsford, BC)
Central - Budweiser Event Center, 5300 capacity (Loveland, CO)
Atlantic - Kitchener Memorial Auditorium Complex, 7100 capacity (Kitchener, ON)
Metro - Erie Insurance Arena, 6700 capacity (Erie, PA)

Each division has their respective location, which eventually will make its down to one when the winners from each move onto the final 4.
Each division will be split into 2 groups of 4 at random. 3 game round robin will occur with the top 2 from each group advancing into the playoff rounds (ie. 1a vs 2b, 1b vs 2a). The bottom teams from each division will play a consolation game against opposing group (ie. 3a vs 4b, 4a vs 3b).
Winners from each division are reseeded and will play at Kitchener Memorial Auditorium Complex for 1st-4th (ie. 1v4 2v3). Winners move on to championship and losers play consolation game.
The idea of this was taken from the prospect tournaments held around the league and seeing how the NBA holds their own league as well. My thought came down to be the enjoyment of implementing all 32 teams into one 2-week tourney full of fast paced hockey. As for the teams themselves, this small tournament every summer will give teams extra revenue from tickets sold, merchandise, etc. The goal for the jersey styles was to display some unique logos that the teams can showcase, as well as use 4 different templates for each division to help separate from the rest. I kept it simple and only allowing 3 colors in total (if applicable).
