ASDesign proposal to the City of Auburn, Alabama that the parcel of land located on the corner of Glenn Ave and N College St be divided and redeveloped into a mixed use general urban zone. The proposal is a hypothetical case study for underutilized spaces in the downtown Auburn area, displayed for education purposes. The case study was not affiliated with any companies, organizations, property owners, or others. The goal of the project was to envision a zoning and development proposal for the city planning department and city council as an example of urban design that was more respectful to the downtown context compared to more recent developments. The redevelopment proposal includes mixed income apartments, offices, and commercial space. The Freewheeler, a landmark of downtown Auburn, should be renovated and a courtyard should be placed adjacent to the painted side façade to preserve the iconic bicycle.
