Herblaw Tea - Branding Project

The Brand

Herblaw is a fictional Tea brand that I've created for my Visual Identity class. It's inspired by Runescape's skill: Herblore, previously known as Herblaw during its first appearence in 2002.
The Colors

I've used colors that ressamble nature and healing. The yellow on the potion ressambles the color of one of the main potions in-game that you can use to heal your character.
The Logo

The idea behind the logo is a flask of potion resting on some healing herbs. I've worked on keeping the design flat as much as possible and was careful to make it work even in black and white, allowing the logo to be used in different backgrounds.
The Typography

The characters used are all Sans Serif to keep up with the identity fresh and fluid. For the name of the brand, Merienda Bold gave a nice leafy touch.

The Business

I've worked on creating some corporate materials such as this business card and to keep the natural roots of the company, I used reclyed paper on the mockup to simulate its appearance.

The Flavors

I've kept the flat ideal on the icons for each flavor and included some leaves from the logo to make it match. Strawberry and Lemon are classic, but I also included "Jabuticaba", a small round fruit that grows in Brazil (where I'm from).
The Patterns

You must have noticed the flasks and leaves pattern used on this presentation, but I also developed some flavor patterns to use on the future of this project.
The Products

He have tea in many shapes and sizes, and to see how Herblaw could work, I've designed some mockups applying the brand to several packages options, such as tea bags, glass bottles and a stand up pouch.
The Social Media

Herblaw is aimed on a young public, connected to games and the internet, so I created a few ads to simulate a possible Instagram for it. The posts use similar shapes to create a sence of union and continuity and there are a number of ways to use the brand material, such as patterns and icons.
The Possibilities

The liquid inside the flask can be used in many ways such as matching the flavor. The different colors of the liquid is one way we can explore this logo, but other possibilities include different types of leaves or flasks that I may try when I revisit this project.
The Evolution

Altough the idea remained the same, the logo has a clear development, leaving the sharp points behind to focus on more round shapes. The colors was also on constant change, evolving into a more natural appearence.
The Inspiration

Jagex's Runescape has been part of my life since I've had a computer, recently I've achived the maximum level on the Herblore skill, something that I thought I would never have done when I played as a kid. The skill involves preparing potions mixing herbs and several ingredients, the potions can help you boost other skills or help you in combat.
