For the Luma Matte, I wanted to create something that is something people would see from billboards and other electronic devices. For this project, I was assigned to create something with a torchlight and make a video for eight seconds.

The image above are three torchlights placed on my garden table. The video shows me waving the torchlight in the darkness with the light on. What I wanted to do is merge both the image and video together to make an illusion type of clip and this is the outcome of it. 

Outcome of the Luma Matte clip 

The final outcome of the clip shows torchlights in both image and merged clip. I was trying to create an illusion with the light shining through the torchlight. At first, I did not enjoy how the outcome looked but when I played the clip again, I felt really pleased with how it looked now.  Although this is my first time doing a Luma Matte, I was a bit sceptical with  my torchlight idea looked like. I gain more confident when I knew what my project outcome would look like.
