Ruins of the Future
This series of adobe sculptures constructed between 2010 and 2011 explores the themes of perpetual incompletion and the reciprocal relationship between construction and destruction. Each piece is a "remnant" of a lost civilization - possibly forgotten, possibly our own. This sculptural language asks a simple question: Why do we build?
Materials: Earth, straw, sand, dye, acrylic, wood, string, wheatpaste.
