Seize, the future luxury

Seize, the future luxury

What is 'future luxury' to you? To me, future luxury is right now. Time becomes meaningful and beautiful when there is life.
Forest nurtured thousands of life but deforestation are destroying this gift from the earth. If we do not protect the environment now, we can only grieve for it in the future. This timepiece is designed as an archive in memory of the greenery we still got.

The Story

The design features a patchy preserved moss dial to represent the losing greenery we still have. The watch hands moving along with time portrayed the process of the deforestation. After the saw (second hand) chop off the trees, a complete blank land appears (minute hand). When time flies, the land slowly recovered turn into a barren land (hour hand). Unfortunately, the recovery process will never catch up the speed of the deforestation.
Dial - Preserved Moss
Second hand - The saw and money that cut down the trees.
Minute hand - The blank land right after the deforestation.
Hour hand -  The barren land in recovery.
Initial ideas and sketches
The crown and the case are knurled for better gripping and to portray a tough appearance.
