PRIVAT Murales

Sometimes I try to be a good calligrapher and really start with small sketches. That's not always the case, because I often already see a clear idea in my head and then I just start drawing or painting. With this little project, however, I made an effort and documented everything nicely.

So here you see the beginning, the beginning of PRIVAT. These are the sketches for a somewhat unconventional mural.

I had seen different directions for the mural and therefore wanted to see quickly what I liked in the implementation. The little sketches with pencil helped me a lot.
After the little sketches I chose two ideas and followed them up. Here you can see the process of one of these ideas.

I scanned the sketch and then first built it up in black and white with vectors in Illustrator. I then consulted my beloved color blog (@colours.cafe on Instagram) and added color to the design.
Unfortunately, I liked this idea better as a sketch than later in digitalized form, so I decided to move on to the next idea.

So I headed over to the second idea: I first made another version with the brush pen for this sketch. Afterwards I scanned this one as well. Then I opened Adobe Illustrator again and also recreated this sketch with paths. And after that: different COLOR versions.

I created a little movie for this:
As I said, I have been working on a somewhat unconventional mural here. It's a private door in the public toilette of the pizzeria from my parents.

I saw the situation and @stefankunz quote came to mind: Create Art, Not Excuses.

And so I decided to make a virtue of necessity and give the door a nice glow up. I created a sketch and painted it on the door. As I saw the color of the door I had to adjust the colors.

Now let's see the final murales! I created for this also a little clip:
