Design Aesthetics I: Color Theory and Inherent Forces

Several studies from Aesthetics I fall of 2020; centered around color theory and also inherent forces. Each exercise helped to develop a sensitivity to subtlety in value, chroma and hue contrast as well as the ability to demonstrate understanding of the visual perceptions of color interaction and hard and soft contrast. The assignment involving dynamic forces challenged conventional divisions of space and implied a non-literal interpretation of the inherent forces. Elements such as tension, figure/ground reversal, alignment, rotation and hierarchy were utilized. Created with Adobe Illustrator.
