OVERVIEW
Ransomware, breaches, obscure privacy policy exposés: concerns and considerations about cybersecurity are at the fore of our national conversation in unprecedented ways. Cybersecurity is more than a technical challenge, however: the human element of aligning behavior, security, and privacy is central to realizing a safe experience for all users.

In this 6-week course, our students used Human-Centered Design to identify a design opportunity in cybersecurity, and develop a design intervention to address it. We helped teams scope projects with 'starting points' that launched into a 5-week deep dive from user research to prototyping and feedback. Despite the remote circumstances, we couldn't be more excited about the work that teams developed. Our project teams explored privacy and security issues in the following projects (click on the links to access their individual work!):

NAVIGATING REMOTE WORK
Students joined our class from around the US and the world - and we were able to reach the conclusions for the projects we did through our students' creative use of tools like Zoom, Google Docs, and Mural to collaborate and build remotely.
