Chiriankandath Jewellery
Chiriankandath Jewellery has been around for 85 year but operating out of one showroom in Thrissur and their clientele based in Kerala. Hence the
brand needs a makeover before they spread their wings and open stores in other parts of India and the globe. Also they realised that customers from other cultures would find it hard to relate to the name and so having an elegant logo would help them appeal to a wider audience. Chiriankandath was looking for a logo that is new and contemporary, and yet displays the elegance and the tradition that is synonymous with the name. Target audience is the middle and upper middle class.
The Concept
Simplicity is the key while designing for a global platform. As anticipated it would be a little difficult to relate to the name 'Chiriankandath’ hence using a clean modern logotype would put the name ‘Chiriankandath’ into focus. The logotype uses only typographical entities / elements to bring out the nature of the business organisation. The letters n, k and the ampersand combine together to form a neckpiece and the form created can be used extensively for brand collaterals.
