The Isles is a site redevelopment to create a community between Gatineau and Ottawa on the pre-existing site surrounding the Chaudière Falls. This was most recently used to operate paper mills by Domtar until production was stopped in 2007. The new development is a very exciting project as the land has only recently become available for development. Due to the diversity in language between the two areas, most of the publications are bilingual.

All the work produced is for the promotion of the community consultation and the sinage for the event. As the project is still in the early stages the client requested graphic collateral that was cohesive with the development company 'Windmill' as apposed to having it's own unique branding, this will come later in the project development.

The Eight Design Principles

The design principles were developed by the windmill team to create a philosophy for the project.They are all important areas to take into consideration right the way through the development process. The Display boards were designed to illustrate the design principles and provide further information for those attending the community consultation. Windmill staff were at each display board and positioned throughout the event to discuss and answer questions with the public.
