Cornichon
Feedback add-on for the DiLL lab system
Cornichon was developed as a peripheral attachment to the DiLL (Digital Language Lab) system in order to provide contextual feedback for student audio recordings. Cornichon does not alter the stock DiLL environment, but rather supplements it by using it's Postgres database backend. Tasks and recordings thus appear in Cornichon in realtime, just as they would in the standard DiLL environment. Cornichon makes contextual feedback even more helpful by allowing the use of YouTube-like links to timecode specific points in the recording. Students or instructors can then pinpoint specific cases in a student's recording that exemplify any feedback they are giving. Oral feedback mechanisms are being researched at this time.
