Connections is an art project created and illustrated by the Danish Illustrator Caroline Scheibel and the Co-Founder of I.D. Performative Collective Abdulnur Akyüz.
The difficulty of expressing our feelings using words (or the universally recognized language) was the motivation of starting the project, which is based on demonstrating the importance of communication despite the distances, the different languages and culture, in addition to the difference in our artistic methods and approach.

"The world has many beautiful landscapes and places, and it is something most people value highly. However, it is not something that happens by itself. It requires conscious way of being in nature or taking care of it. Many consider safety, nature and the landscape to be a matter of course. But it is definitely not. There have never been so many linings as in recent years. In short, there is a lot of pressure on our landscapes, environment, health and the way we in the world are together.
War, the climate crisis, corruption, distress and Corona are changing our lives at a turbulent pace.
From May to July, I have worked with Nur on a joint project, where we were inspired by each other's lives and artistic approach." - Caroline Scheibel (August 2021)
"Verden har mange smukke landskaber og steder, og det er noget de fleste mennesker værdsætter højt. Det er dog ikke noget der sker af sig selv. Det kræver bevidst måde at være i naturen på eller passe på den. Mange betragter sikkert at være i sikkerhed, naturen og landskabet som en selvfølge. Men det er det absolut ikke. Der er aldrig være så mange udforinger som i de sidste år. Der er kort sagt et stort pres på vore landskaber, mijlø, sundhed og måde vi i verden er sammen på.

"My art statement has always been about connecting with other creators beyond materialism. Caroline and I met in April through improbable talks by I.D. Our contact began immediately and we were aware of our cultural differences and language barrier, but there was a strong bond that led us to work together on this project by turning our creation into a connection, using different artistic techniques, textures and colours.Working with Caroline brought a lot of joy because I learned so much from her experience, I shared tea with her virtually and had some personal conversations while painting together. "لطالما كان بياني الفني يدور حول التواصل مع المبدعين الآخرين بما يتجاوز المادية. التقيت أنا وكارولين في أبريل / نيسان من خلال محادثات غير محتملة أجراها آدي. وبدأ اتصالنا على الفور. كنا على دراية باختلافاتنا الثقافية والحاجز اللغوي ، لكن كان هناك رابط قوي قودنا للعمل معًا في هذا المشروع من خلال تحويل لوحتنا الفنية الى مشروع مشترك ، باستخدام تقنيات فنية وألوان مختلفة. جلب العمل مع كارولين الكثير من البهجة لأنني تعلمت الكثير من تجربتها وشاركت معها الشاي افتراضيا وأجريت بعض المحادثات الشخصية أثناء الرسم معًا. ليس للفن نقطة نهاية وهذا المشروع هو بداية صداقة وشراكة" - عبد النور أكيوز (اب 2021)

Within a short period of time, Lebanon has experienced a fourfold catastrophe: the revolution of October 2019 that came to a standstill, hyperinflation due to the free fall of the Lebanese lira on the currency markets, the explosion in the port of Beirut on 4 August 2020 and finally the pandemic. So our collaboration makes so much sense.
