Dunny Designer Tissue Packaging

Dunny Designer Facial Tissues is focused on selling an essential hygiene product by using an appealing collectable Dunny shaped box as packaging to target teenagers.

The concept

Dunny Designer Facial Tissues was inspired by Kidrobot art toys - a brand well known in the art and design industry. I invented this product based on alternative punk design in order to target teenage rebels from the age of 13 to 19. These teenagers have a notorious reputation of being different and often feel left out in society. They are rarely considered when it comes to commercial products and are difficult to target as they are mysterious and fragile in nature.

As Kidrobot offers a range of T-shirts, hats, plush cushions, key chains as well as other items, my proposal is to create an extension for the brand, where Dunny becomes the packaging in stead of the product. In this instance the Dunny will package tissues. My target market are not known for their hygienic lifestyle. The product offers tissues as well as stunning designer packaging which will fit perfectly into their world.

The package is covered with illustrations inspired by teenage doodles, graffiti and Kidrobot art toys. Just as the concept behind Kidrobot’s original Dunny, Dunny Designer Facial Tissues is a platform for prominent as well as upcoming artists. In a real life scenario the graphics will change quarterly as it is appropriated by various artists. The packaging then becomes a desirable collector’s item, reinforcing the concept of sustainability.
