FMCG - Gillette Venus

A small FMCG Campaign for Gillette Venus I created in my final year of college.

Idea: Since as long as I can remember, there have been these false notions about women shaving. Because of this some women put themselves through the torture of waxing, or using chemically treated hair removal skins which in the long run is harmful for your skin. Of course in the end it’s all about personal preference. However, a survey I conducted showed me that the reasons the women believed in for not shaving were all actually myths. And I took it upon myself to bust them. With tons of research, actually talking to medical professionals and consumers who were already using the product I came up with the persona of “The Goddess Venus”. Of course that is the name of the brand itself, but the actual Roman Goddess herself encompassed love, beauty, prosperity, victory, etc.
I thought, wouldn’t be easier if we could talk to the Goddess of Beauty herself.
Hence, I created a list of the questions/myths/misconceptions people around me had and had The Goddess Venus answer them herself. All these questions were from real consumers around me and to keep their identity anonymous, and also add a little fun, I came up with ‘punny’ names. I kept the whole look of my campaign very feminine while also highlighting the real problems and their solutions. Consumers could just send in their queries through mail and Venus would answer them. The most common ones were shared publicly by turning them into posters or press ads.
